It is challenging to find family friendly recipes which meet the nutritional demands of endurance athletes. I am trying to healthy recipes which do both. But I really like to make all of the bad stuff....Lamb, roast beef, chocolate anything!
I learned the hard way, never, ever to cook pea soup in the pressure cooker. Who knew that warning also applied to apple sauce! Seriously, my grandmother was a wonderful cook, I learned from her. Sadly many of her recipes where not written down, and as she developed dementia, we were forever dragging her into the kitchen to try to pin down some of her best dishes. She and my grandfather had a 1 acre garden, and everything was always fresh. If It wasn't in season or frozen or canned by grandma, we didn't eat it. And everything was made from scratch, no mixes for anything on her shelves!
I am a working mom of 7. My family lives in Central Massachusetts with our variety of dogs. My husband and I are avid cyclists and runners and enjoy participate in endurance sporting events.
