I'm the Senior Editor of AOL Food, I blog for Slashfood, I'm the Vice Chair of the James Beard Journalism Committee and I'm a KCBS certified BBQ judge. I can be found on Twitter at http://twitter.com/kittenwithawhip But much more importantly, nothing makes me happier than spending hours upon hours tending a barrel smoker so I can share the glory of a pulled pork shoulder or a dry-rubbed brisket with my friends and loved ones. I just plainly, simply love to feed people. Whether it's with the 5-6 gallons of Kentucky Burgoo my husband and I serve up along with beer cheese, benedictine, bourbon slush and mint juleps every Derby Day (we live in Brooklyn, but I grew up in the Bluegrass State,) a Lane Cake and sweet tea fried chicken to celebrate a friend's new baby, or my weirdo cassoulet & Mai Tai Groundhog Day parties, I absolutely live to bring folks together with food. I spend my spare time canning, pickling, growing heirloom vegetables and strolling grocery store aisles from coast to coast, tracking down regional snacks and drinks.
