Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Onto waxed paper, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a cup, combine milk, almond extract and anise seed.

In small bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed cream butter or margarine until light and fluffy; gradually beat in sugar. With electric mixer at low speed, beat in flour mixture alternately with liquid mixture, beating after each addition until smooth.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto large greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Spread lightly with spatula to make cookie edges smooth and round.

Bake 20 minutes or until edges of cookies are golden brown. Repeat until all batter is used. Cool on rack.

Mix confection sugar with water to make a icing. Ice each cookie and sprinkle with colored sprinkles.
