Butter a baking dish and preheat oven to 375° F.
Peel an assortment of 5 apples and slice
In a large bowl add apples, berries, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and toss to blend
Pour apple-berry mixture into the prepared dish (buttered casserole dish).
In a medium-sized bowl combine flour, salt, brown sugar and cinnamon
With pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until it’s crumbly
Next stir in the oats
And now sprinkle this mixture over the apples and bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp and golden.

11/09/08 12:21 AM | Easy, fast, no fuss, great!I put this recipe together in minutes. I did not have enough cranberries so I added golden and dark raisins also. It was delicious, colorful, and everyone loved it.
There is however an error in the recipe. It says to add the brown sugar to the apples and berries. Then it says to add the brown sugar to the crumble ingredients. So, having already added it to the fruit, I put some more in the crumble. Yummy!! |

10/31/08 03:53 PM | Apple Berry CrispMaybe I am dumb, but I thought the receipe was very confusing. How do you mix the brown sugar etc with the fruit and then turn around and cut butter into it and add the oats for the topping? Do you measure out the same amount twice? I was to far into the receipe to go back and no one to ask the question to. Please clarify the difference between what is added to the fruit and what is for the topping. Thanks |
