Apple-Peach Chutney

Ingredients

  • 7 Golden Delicious apples (about 3 lb), peeled, cored and chopped (about 10 cups)
  • 2 cans (15 to 16 oz. each) sliced peaches in extra-light syrup, drained, slices cut in thirds
  • 2 jars (15 oz. each) whole onions, drained
  • 11/2 cups packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 cup each cider vinegar and raisins
  • 1 tsp each ground cumin, ginger and cinnamon

Cooking Instructions

Put all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently, uncovered, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Cool slightly (mixture will continue to thicken as it cools). Pour into jars, cool, cover and refrigerate.

Planning Tip: Make at least 3 days ahead. Store in refrigerator up to 2 months.
