Cooking Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Slice bacon into 1/2 inch strips and dredge in brown sugar until thoroughly coated.

Bacon Candy

This is very good. I like to wrap the bacon around green bean bundles and maybe sprinkle a little cajun seasoning. I don't make this too often, but the family thinks its a holiday when I do.

Get over it...

People have been eating bacon and brown sugar for ages, even during the same meal, but the second someone suggests a recipe that incorporates both together, it's a crisis situation. Yea, we're all intelligent people. We know they aren't the best foods for us, but live a little people! Nobody asked you to eat the whole pound of bacon. Good grief. Keep the negative comments to yourself.

Spice it up

I do this all the time, except I add a dash of cayenne pepper and 1/8 tsp. of freshly ground black pepper to the brown sugar. If you don't want the sugar to burn, cook the bacon by itself for 12 minutes at 375 degrees, drain off the fat, and the sprinkle the sugar on and finish baking for 5 minutes, or until the sugar melts.
