Alternate cookies and bananas in a large bowl. Set aside. Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Stir in egg yolks and milk; blend well. Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; add vanilla. Pour hot pudding over cookie and bananas, working the pudding down into the bowl throughout the cookies. Serve when cool.
