Beer Batter Onion Rings

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can beer
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Cooking Instructions

Peel and slice onion into medium slices. Separate and soak in whole milk. Mix cornmeal, flour, and salt. Add beer and buttermilk (add liquids sparingly, making sure the mixture remains thick). Remove onion rings from milk. Dip into batter until well coated. Drop individual rings into deep fryer of hot oil. When golden brown, remove and drain on paper towels.
