Ingredients

  • 4 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 pound ghiraddeli's semi sweet choc chips
  • 6 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 bag chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp instant coffee

Cooking Instructions

Add butter,choc chips and chopped bittersweet choc over double boiler until melted. Add room temperature eggs, instant coffee, vanilla and sugar in another pan, whisking until blended. Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Add cooled chocolate to eggs and sugar mixture with whisk, then slowly add flour mixture. Add addtl chocolate chips to 1/4 cup flour until covered, then add to mixture. Add nuts if you choose, or peanute butter in dollops and swirl into chocolate. 1/2 way thru baking rap pan in oven to release air.

Recipe Notes

Barefoot contessa recipe from TV. makes 20 huge brownies. Don't butter or flour pan if using non stick. Also us jelly roll pan.
