Ingredients

  • 1 vegetable cooking spray
  • 4 cups coarsely chopped green cabbage
  • 1 cup coarsely shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 cup Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsely
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Heat a cooking spray coated small saucepan over medium heat. Put cabbage, carrot, and onions in and cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Pour mixture into a 10 by 6 inch cooking spray coated baking dish.

Mix milk, cheese, caraway, salt, eggs, and egg white in a medium sized bowl, make sure the ingredients are fully combined. Spoon milk/cheese mixture over cabbage and scatter parsley and Parmesan over.

Place in oven and bake for 40 minutes. Insert knife in the middle, it will come out clean when fully cooked. Let rest 5 minutes before cooling.

Cabbage Gratin

This was great! Except you left out the onions on the list of ingredients. I had to guess...I used 1/2 cup chopped. The caraway seeds really make the dish
