Ingredients

  • A piece of smoked ham: picnic, butt, shank or cottage ham or roll
  • 1 large quartered cabbage
  • 4 halved and pared medium-sized potatoes
  • Lemon wedges

Cooking Instructions

Cook until nearly tender in water to cover: a piece of smoked ham: picnic, butt, shank or cottage ham or roll.

If using already cooked or leftover ham, bring the water just to a boil before adding: 1 large quartered cabbage, 4 halved and pared medium-sized potatoes.

Simmer covered about 20 to 25 minutes. Drain. Season to taste.

Serve from a large platter, garnished with: lemon wedges.
