Fry, and brown beef cubes in Olive Oil.
Meanwhile, in tall pot, add water.
Place over medium heat.
Cut potatoes into large cubes, and add too pot.
Cut celery, and add too pot.
Slice carrots, and add too pot.
Shred cabbage, and add to pot.
Cut up onion, and add to pot.
Pour in Stewed Tomatoes, and also 1/2 jar of sauce.
Add canned vegetables.
Add spices.
When meat has finished cooking, add to pot, along with the Olive Oil, and drippings.
Stir.
Add more water, if needed.
Turn heat on low, and cook at least 4 hours, making sure to stir occasionally!
Cooking longer then 4 hours will only make this soup taste even better!

01/22/09 08:23 PM | Better FormattingThis sounds like a great recipe but the way it's written might be a bit difficult to sort out which steps are concurrent and which are first,second,third. It'd be easier if it was like this:

Cut potatoes into large cubes, and add to the pot.
Then, cut the celery, carrots and onion, and shred the cabbage; add these to the pot as well.
After that, pour in the stewed tomatoes with 1/2 jar of sauce, then add canned vegetables and spices.
When meat has finished cooking, add to the pot along with the olive oil and drippings.
Stir, and add more water if needed.
Then turn heat on low and cook for at least four hours, making sure to stir occasionally!
Remember: Cooking for longer than four hours will ony make this soup taste even better! |
