Cut chicken into one Inch pieces and briefly brown over medium heat in oil and butter. Add finely chopped onion and the mushrooms and saute' for an other 2 to 3 minutes. Add Salt Pepper and Curry stir thoroughly after removing from heat. Don't leave on the heat to long curry burns quickly.
In a seperate large saucepan add water and cream than wisk in the 2 packages of sauce mix. .
Pour the 3/4 cup of rice over the ckicken and pour the liquid on top of that. Cover bring to a simmer and put into a preheated oven 350 F for 20 minutes.
Cut tomatos in half and add to the dish to warm them. Garnish the servings with the caramelized onions and tomatos.
Tip: Put all ingredients on a baking tray. Chop one onion and put in a small bowl. Slice the other onion and put in a bowl. Cut up chicken and put in a bowl.
If you have all ingredients on this tray you can start. Start by setting the oven at 350 F. Again don't start unless all ingredients are on the tray.
A classic Indian dish made simply delicious. The dish can also be made with bone in chicken parts.
