Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups evaporated skim milk
  • 1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Cooking Instructions

In a saucepan take the first 6 ingredients listed and mix together.

Slowly stir in the milk and egg yolk.

Cook the mixture, stir consistently until it thickens.

Remove the saucepan from the heat source and add vanilla.

Take the mixture and pour it into 6 custard dishes.

Refrigerate/chill and then serve.
