1. Scald milk and set aside.
2. In a small saucepan over hot water, melt the chocolate. Add the sugar, salt, and stir in boiling water gradually. Boil 5 minutes.
3. Pour the scalded milk into the chocolate mixture. Add the vanilla. Beat with egg beater or a whisk and serve hot. Can be chilled and served with ice.
