Cream together butter, peanut butter and sugars. Beat in eggs.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir into batter. Put batter in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Roll into 1 inch balls and put on baking sheets. Flatten each ball with a fork, making a criss-cross pattern. Bake in a preheated 375 degrees F oven for about 10 minutes or until cookies begin to brown. Do not over-bake.

Childhood favorite 3rd generationMy mom made has made these cookies since I was kid, my kids love them and now my daughter borrowed recipe and lost it. I have been looking for one like it for 2 yrs and am thrilled to have finally found the same exact one my mom had. These are wonderful, best peanut butter cookie I've ever had and so easy to make, if you don't need alot of cookies at once u can always roll balls and freeze them and pull out as many as u wish to make at a time because this recipe makes alot in 1 setting. Try them and u will be pleasantly pleased. |

awesome recipe! This Classic recipe is by far the best peanut butter cookie recipe I have made. I used salted butter and a tad bit more peanut butter then the recipe called for and the results were melt in your mouth cookies. |
