Cooking Instructions

In a measuring cup mix the water and milk together. set aside.

On medium heat get the bacon grease hot and liquified. Slowly sprinkle in flour keep stirring and smashing the flour into the grease. Do this until you've created a sort of 'paste' that is blended in well with the grease

Now slowly begin to stir in the water/milk mixture constantly stirring NEVER STOP STIRRING! If you do it will get all lumpy. Continue to stir the mixture and add the milk/water until it gets creamy texture. Some people like their gravy thick some like it thin. It all depends on how much liquid you put in it. However if you accidentally make it to thin just let it continue to simmer without adding anything and it will thicken up.

Season with a pretty fair helping of black pepper or to your own taste and I also recomend putting just a small dash of crushed red pepper in it.

Excellent Comfort Food For Winter

This is just like the recipe when I lived out in AZ and we trail ride in the mountains. The gravy was simple almost exact except they would add crumbled sausage in the gravy add a touch of hot sauce. Both recipes are easy fast with that country cooking flavor. I used to be a Chef so for me to reply it has to be a taste sensation. Sometimes the simple things that do not require advance cooking skills are the best!!

Here's an easy, reliable way to ensure a moist and flavorful turkey...simply baste the turkey with chicken stock during roasting. When the turkey is done, use a bit more stock to make a quick and tasty gravy.
