1. Cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add salt and vanilla extract. 3. Add eggs one at a time and beat after each addition.
4. Add flour, dividing into four additions.
5. Grease only the bottom of the pan for a smooth and even cake.
6. Pour into 10" round tube cake pan.
7. Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-1/2 hours or until done.
