Crock Pot Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 4 LBS Pork Shoulder or Boston Butt
  • 2 Large Onions
  • 1 Cup Ginger Ale, or a can of Beer
  • 1 18 oz BBQ Sauce

Cooking Instructions

1) Slice 1 onion and place in crock pot.

2) Put in roast & cover with remaining sliced onion. Pour Ginger Ale (or Beer) over Roast.

Cover and cook on low for 12 hours.

3) Remove the meat, strain, saving the onions. Discard all Liquid. With two forks shred the meat. Discard any remaining fat, bones or skin. Most of the fat will have melted away.

4) return the shredded meat and the onions to the crock pot, stir in BBQ sauce. Continue to cook for another hour to an hour and a half.

Serve with Onion Rolls and coleslaw.

Recipe Notes

This is a wonderful make ahead recipe... So simple and so devine! Leftovers freeze very well and are great on pizzas or a salad with chunky blue cheese.. Enjoy!
