Deluxe Creamed Onions

Ingredients

  • 2jars ( 16 oz ea) whole onions
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/8 t peper
  • 1 1/2 half & half cream
  • 1 1/2 shredded carrots

Cooking Instructions

Heat and drain whole onions.Heat butter over low heat until melted. Blend in flour,salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly,until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat.

Stir in half and half. Heat to boiling,stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 min.Stir in carrots and cook 5 mins.longer. Pour sauce over hot onions.

Recipe Notes

Option: Instead of adding 1 1/2 c of shredded carrots, you may just add 2 T shredded carrots for color.
