Empty mushroom soup into baking dish. Add salt and pepper to taste and add chopped onion and wine. Also add extra mushroons if desired.Stir throughly. MIx in flour if too thin. My mother also added sour cream but I am not sure how much or when. Slice beef into thin strips and place in baking dish. Bake at 375-400 for an hour and 30 minuets. Prepare noddles as per directions. Serve over noodles.
Real beef strognoff can be made in a large skillet using beef stock and thicken with flour. My Mother also added sour cream. You can also leave the beef in larger pieces and serve the sauce as gravy over potatos.
