Easy Inside Out Apple Tarts
  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Cook: 10 mins
  • Ready in: 15 mins
  • Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2-3 Large Apples (green work nicely), skinned, cored and chopped
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry
  • 1 small Tab of Butter
  • 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Blackberries (optional)
  • Whip Cream (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Preheat your oven as per the Puff Pastry directions. Cut the sheet of Puff Pastry into 4 small squares or rectangles. Place on baking sheet and bake as per Puff Pastry directions, normally 10 minutes.

Next take a sauce pan and melt the butter over med. heat. Add the chopped apples.

Add the sugar, cinnamon & nutmeg. Continue cooking the apples for about 10 minutes or until a syrup is formed and apples are tender. Stir occasionally to keep apples from burning.

When Puff Pastry is done, take out and cut open the middle like a sandwich. Place each in a dish and fill the middle with a few apples, replace top and add apples all around the outside of the pastry. Pour syrup over the top of pastry and add blackberries and whip cream (if using).

Recipe Notes

The best thing about this recipe is you can make is that in Fall or Winter you can serve this Hot, and in summer you can stick it in the Ice Box and serve later on Cold!
