Rinse quinoa in a fine-mesh sieve and drain.
Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook stirring constantly to avoid burning the garlic.
Add the quinoa and cook stirring constantly until the grains are separate and golden.
Stir in chicken stock bring to a boil reduce the heat and simmer until the liquid is absorbed 12 to 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Quinoa (pronounced "keen-wa") is a light, almost nutty grain, high in protein and minerals. This recipe is from the Joy of Cooking.

My children enjoyed looking at the grain before cooking and after. They were very interested in how the grain changes form after being cooked. I will recommend this to my friends and family |
