  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 lg. eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rum
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • confectioners sugar
| More

Cooking Instructions

Slice bread 1 inch thick in slight diagonal across loaf.

Dip slices for 5 seconds on each side to moisten. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar on each side.

Cook in buttered cast iron skillet at medium high heat. Turn slices every 2 minutes until done about 10 minutes.

Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Ok, so the rum is optional, but makes it authentic. The confectioner's sugar will carmelize and add a touch of unique flavor.
