Frosted Wheat Pastry Twists

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup finely crushed cereal
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Cooking Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375F.

2. Roll the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a 14 x 11-inch rectangle. Beat together the egg white and water; brush on the pastry. Combine the cereal, brown sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over the pastry. Gently press the cereal mixture into the pastry or roll with a rolling pin to adhere.

3. Cut the pastry sheet crosswise into 3/4-inch-wide strips. Shape into twists and place on a greased baking sheet, pressing down the ends. Bake for 15 minutes, or until crisp and browned.
