  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sugar or to taste
  • 1/2 lb dried peaches, apples or pears
  • 3/4 lb prunes, pitted
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 clove
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 lemon, quartered

Cooking Instructions

1. Bring the water and the sugar to a boil in a small saucepan.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Remove the lemon before serving.
