Gram Platt's Green Bean Casserole..

Ingredients

  • 1/2 sliced Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Parsley fresh or dry
  • 2 Tbsp Butter/Margarine
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 c Sour Cream
  • 5 c Frozen french cut green beans thawed
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms cut up
  • 1/2 c grated cheese cheddar
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter/marg
  • 1/2 c bread crumbs

Cooking Instructions

Cook onion parsley & butter until tender low to med. heat

Add flour salt & pepper

Add sour cream mix well

Stir in green beans & mushrooms

Put in 9x13 baking dish

Top w/ grated cheddar cheese

Combine melted butter bread crumbs sprinkle over top

325 oven cook slowly about 1/2 hr to 45 min.

Recipe Notes

My Grandmother always served this dish around the Holidays. I don't think she ever used the Campbell soup recipe, this one tops it. Everyone loved this. She gave me the recipe after I guessed the secret ingredient (sour cream). Enjoy!
