Green Beans Amandine

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans (500 g)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp butter (50 ml)
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds (50 ml)

Cooking Instructions

Snap off the ends of the beans and wash well. You may leave them whole or French them (cut into slivers lengthwise). Place beans in a pot of boiling water and place on middle grill over high heat to simmer until tender. Drain well and season with salt and pepper.

While the beans are cooking, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat and add the almonds. Toss and cook until lightly toasted. Keep warm.

Place the beans in a serving dish and top with the buttered almonds. They may be served this way or tossed lightly.
