Habichuelas Dominicanas- Easy version

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cans black or red beans
  • 1/2 chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 chopped red pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/3 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Adobo seasoning
  • 1/2 cube chicken boullion

Cooking Instructions

Add beans + 1 can of water per can of beans to a pot

Add seasoning, boullion, and tomato paste and bring to a slow boil.

Add remaining ingredients, cover and let softly boil for 15-20 minutes or until beans are soft.

Remove from heat and serve over white rice.

Recipe Notes

This is a main staple in a Dominican's diet. This is the slightly easier, cutting the corners version, but it's still very good!!!
