Ham Onion Califlower Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh califlower, cut up or 1pkg frozen cut up califlower
  • 1/2 pkg Vegetarian Canadian Bacon Cut up into 1 inch by 1 inch pieces
  • 14 onions pearl onions peeled and cut in halves
  • 2 cups medium white sauce
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 1/4 cups Original Bisquick Mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 TBS chopped parsley
  • 0 0 salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

Heat oven to 450 degrees (hot).

Cook califlower until just slightly tender. Drain. Mix with ham and onions in a baking dish.

Make white sauce. (med white sauce (2 cups) is made by the following: 4 TBSP butter (or margirine), 4 TBSP flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 2 cups milk. Melt butter over low heat in a heavy saucepan. Blend in flour and salt/pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 min.

Add mustard and cheese to the white sauce. Stir until cheese is melted. Pour over ham-broccoli mixture.

Place in oven while making biscuits.

Stir Bisquick with milk until a soft dough forms. Add chopped parsley and a little salt to taste.

Take baking dish from oven. Drop biscuits by Large spoonfuls onto hot mixture in the baking dish.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until biscuits are cooked all the way through.

Easy and Delicious

Great for leftover ham especially at the holidays. Easy to make and everyone enjoyed it. Will definately make again.

Delicious and Filling!!

We tried this recipe during this weekend and it was greatly enjoyed by the family. This is like one dish meal, as it has biscuits baked on top of casserole.
