Family RecipeMy husband's mother also made this dish minus the tomato sauce. It is his favorite. He thinks the is a classic. I don't like it but I make it occasionally for him. |

I though were were the only mashed potato and hot dog familyI saw the recipe title and had to check it out. We would split the hot dogs put them in the baking dish, make mashed potatoes and mix with a can of drained corn and spread it over the hot dogs. Then top it with cheese and stick it in the oven to heat up. Now that I don't eat potatoes, this is one of the things I miss the most! |

Comfort food!Sounds like your mom was a very smart lady! She combined kid-favorite items like hot dogs and mashed potatos in a wonderful concoction and then topped it all with tomato sauce and cheese. I love it! Kudos to mom! |
