Ingredients

  • 1/2 medium onion red/yellow/vidalia/spanish...more to taste
  • 1 medium shallot
  • 1/4 stick butter/margarine
  • 1/2 tsp salt/sea salt/more if you like
  • 1/2 tsp pepper/more if you like
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper/more if you prefer
  • 1 tbls crushed/minced/fresh garlic
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cube beef/chicken or vegetable...more if you like
  • 1 cup well rinced rice
  • 14 oz can/frozen/fresh peas/cut greens beans/italian beans/your choice

Cooking Instructions

Slice and chop onion and shallot. Open can or package or fresh beans RINCE thouroughly. Put aside

Into a warmed 2 qt pot add 1/4 cube of butter or margarine. Let melt....DO NOT BURN....turn down heat after butter has melted.

Add to melted butter onions and shallots. Cook until onions are just a little bit brown. stir.

Add 2 cups water. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat. DO NOT OVER BOIL. It will take away the flavor of the onions.

Add salt pepper garlic cube(s) and anything else you might dig up But please do not over do!!!

Bring to boil.....Layer beans on top of boil....DO NOT STIR IN!!! Again bring to a boil.

Add 1 cup of well rinced rice. Layer do not stir in. Bring to a broil. You MUST rince rice until the water has turned clear if you do not rince well the rice will be wall-paper paste and ruin a good thing!

As soon as boiling starts cover pot turn heat down to low low low. Let steam cook for 35 Minutes. Turn off and let stand on stove for 5-10 more minutes.

After all other foods have cooked stir to bring up all the yummies from the bottom. Stir well and serve when ready.

NEVER NEVER EVER EVER LET ANYBODY OPEN THE COVER AND DISTURB THE COOKING!!!!!!
