Jewish Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 t. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together cake mix, pudding, shortening, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla. Set aside.

Mix together chopped nuts, cinnamon, and brown sugar.

Add half of sugar mixture to cake batter.

Put into greased cake pan (about 9"x13").

Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture on top of the cake.

Bake @ 350 for 1 hour.

Recipe Notes

The best coffee cake I ever had was one my grandmother made from scratch when I was about 9 yrs. old. I never forgot the goodness of that cake!
