Maple-Glazed Ham Steaks with Pears and..

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 box (6 oz) one-step cornbread stuffing
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup dried sweetened cranberries
  • 4 3-oz ham steak filets
  • 2 Tbsp maple-flavored pancake syrup
  • 11/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 can (15 oz) chunky Bartlett pears in light syrup, drained

Cooking Instructions

Bring 1 cup water and the butter to boil in a covered small saucepan or medium bowl in microwave. Stir in stuffing mix, nuts and cranberries. Remove from heat; cover and let stand 5 minutes.

Meanwhile heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add ham; cook 3 minutes, turning once, until lightly browned.

Mix syrup and mustard. Brush on top of steaks then turn over; cook 30 seconds until glazed. Brush steaks again, turn over and cook 30 seconds until other side is glazed. Remove to a plate.

Add pears to skillet; cook, stirring, until hot. Spoon on ham. Fluff stuffing with a fork; serve alongside.

Serve with a crisp green salad.
