Cooking Instructions

grease bottom of 10 inch tube pan. preheat oven to 350;f. cream butter and sugar together untill light and fluffy. add egg yolks one at a time and beat well. sift togrther flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk to cream mixture. add vanilla and mix. beat egg whites untill stiff; fold into batter. remove 1/3 batter and set aside. mix together cocoa, sugar, baking soda and hot water to make a chocolate syrup. add the chocolate syrup to 1/3 of the batter that was ser aside and mix well. spoon batter into pan alternating vanilla chocolate batter. bake in 350 oven for 1 hour untill toothpick inserted comes out clean.
