Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 cups fresh white or whole-wheat bread crumbs (about 4 bread slices)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Cooking Instructions

1 In large bowl, mix well lean ground beef, fresh bread crumbs and remaining ingredients.

2 Spoon mixture into 9" by 5" loaf pan; with spoon, level top. Bake in 350F. oven 1-1/2 hours.

3 Let meat loaf stand 5 minutes at room temperature; pour off and discard drippings.

4 With spatula, loosen meat loaf from pan, invert onto warm platter and remove loaf pan.

meat loaf heaven?

Good starter recipee BUT add diced red & yellow peppers with some oatmeal in place of bread crumbs. Kick it up with spices...maybe even a Jalepeno or 2... A tspn of Balsamic Vunegar wows it.
