Mrs.C's Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Karo Syrup (light only not dark)
  • 1 CUP Smooth Peanut Butter (preferrably JIF)
  • 3/4 CUP Light Brown Sugar
  • 12 CUPS Kellogg's SPECIAL K Cereal (plain, no strawberries)
  • 1 CUP Raisins (optional)

Cooking Instructions

In a large pot pour entire bottle of Karo syrup and brown sugar. Heat up enough to melt sugar. Do not boil! Then mix in peanut butter and stir until completely melted. Make sure mixture is smooth. Finally stir in cereal a little at a time being sure to coat cereal evenly. Spoon hot mixture into pans pressing the mixture 1-1/2" thick. When cooled cut into squares. ( I always a 9" x 13" casserole dish AND a 9"x9" or 8"x 8" dish with sides.) You can put this in whatever size pans you have that has sides.
