Mix first 6 ingredients together and place on top of fish. Marinate fish in mixture for at least 30 minutes.I like to put mine in a large ziplock bag that way I can mix it around well. You can put it a container with a lid if you do not like using ziplock bags. If putting in a ziplock bag, a tip to prevent from accidental spills in your refrigerator is to get a pyrex dish and lay the bag in there. Be sure to mix bag around or spoon mixture over fish after 15 minutes of marinating to evenly distribute the marinade. If you are going to be fixing more than 4 fish fillets, double this mixture. After fish has marinated, place in fish rack and spoon on marinate. I like to make sure I see the onions on the fish. Cook fish on grill 10 minutes, turning halfway. When the fish flakes, it is ready to serve. Tip: if unfamilar with cooking fish, ask your fish monger about cooking time and they can tell you based on thickness how long to cook. It has tons of flavor your family and friends are sure to enjoy so be sure to make plenty!!
This recipe has been passed on for generations since my great grandmother. It was originally used for King Fish but I have used it for Tilapia and Snapper mainly. Note: Cooking time on fish may vary depending on thickness.
