Preheat the oven to 350F. Butter a loaf pan. Mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl, add the egg, milk, and butter, and stir until well blended. Add the nuts. Spoon into the pan and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the pan and cool on a rack.
