Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/3 cup flour

Cooking Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350F. Beat the egg yolks until they are pale and thick. Gradually beat in the sugar, then add the nuts and salt. Beat the egg whites separately until stiff but not dry. Fold them into the first mixture, then stir in the flour. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies for them to spread. Bake for 4 - 7 minutes or until firm.

nut cookies

I just tried making these and there's definitely something wrong with the recipe! They spred all over the pan and I had to throw the whole, gooey mess away. What a waste of ingredients! Should the flour have been 1 1/3 cups?
