1 Preheat the oven to 325F.
2 Cream the shortening, add the honey and mix together thoroughly. Add the egg and orange rind.
3 Sift the flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the orange juice, stirring only until flour is dampened. Add the nuts.
4 Turn into a greased 9-inch loaf pan and bake 70 minutes.
