Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine onions, ketchup, water, salt, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and mustard. Split ribs down the center between the bones.
Heat a large lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Add ribs and sear until browned. This may have to be done in several batches.
Place ribs in a single layer in two baking pan or casserole dish. Pour half of the sauce over the ribs, reserve remainder.
Bake ribs in preheated oven for 3 hours. Turn and baste meat every twenty minutes with remaining sauce, using all sauce by two hours. Continue turning and basting ribs using sauce in the pan during the last hour of baking.

With just a couple of variation...ummmI prepare my ribs similar; lower the heat to 300 and cook for 5 hours inside a cassarole dish sealed with aluminum foil... then crank up to 350 for 30 mins, open the foil and broil for 8 mins. Remove the bones and enjoy succulent rib meat!! yums |

Oven Baked BBQ RibsI made this for the 4th of July. Me and my family enjoyed these ribs alot. I added a few extras to the sauce(lemon slices & its juice, and a couple of shakes of A-1 sauce). The ribs were sooo sooo sooo tender and finger lickin' good(Sorry Kernel). I will make them again and again and again...Thanks a bunch!! We loved them!! |

mmm-mmmm goodTried this recipe with excellent results. Ribs were "fall off the bone" tender, and the sauce was a nice change from regular BBQ sauce. I will definitely make this again...a real hit with my family. |
