Ingredients

  • 8 oz Puff Pastry
  • 4 oz crystallized sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten, for egg wash
| More

Cooking Instructions

1. Roll out the puff pastry over crystallized sugar to a rectangle approximately 6 inches wide and 20 inches long. Fold each end, meeting in the center. Brush with egg wash and fold again, with each end meeting in the center. Then fold in half. Freeze for 5 to 10 minutes to firm the pastry.

2. Preheat oven to 400.

3. Remove pastry from the freezer and slice into 1/4-inch slices. Lay slices, flat side down, on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Turn the cookies over and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until lightly brown. To avoid sticking, remove cookies from the baking sheet as soon as they are done.
