Cooking Instructions

In a small bowl stir the yeast in the warm water to blend. Set aside until it the yeast dissolves about 15 minutes.

Mound the flour on a work surface. Form a well in the center of the flour and add the oil and salt to the well. Add the yeast mixture to the well. Working from the center outward stir the sides of the well into the yeast mixture until all of the flour is incorporated. Continue to mix the dough until a dough forms.

Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic and no longer sticky adding small pinches of flour if the dough is too sticky about 8 minutes. Divide the dough in two and shape each into a ball.

Lightly oil 2 large bowls and place the dough in the bowls. Cover the bowls with towels and let rise at room temperature until doubled about 1 1/2 hours.

How did Curtis Stone GET this job?

This guy is so over rated it is ridiculous. Most of his recipes (like this one) contain basic mistakes than any chef with even a couple of years of experience would know better than to make.

dough recipe

Yep, thats a lot of yeast and absulutley add sugar! I used high gluten flour, but I'm a pro and fussy. As far as kids, absolutely they love making and playing with dough...I've even added food coloring to the water for colored dough...its fun, but blue pizza dough is not very appetizing to look at..but kids love it.

"The yeast of these"

I have been baking for 50 years, and that is way too much yeast. Cut the yeast in half! JMM

Fast, Easy & Fun for the Kids

For a fun family night making pizza. A fast way of doing it is to go to a Pizza shop ask them to buy some dough go home cut it into small serving sizes . Then let the kids go wild no sticky mess wih the dough and no waiting for the dough to rise. The mess...comes after the kids are done but its worth it! its a great family time project for the working mom or dad with little time on there hands.
