Sift the flour and baking soda together.
Mix the nutmeg, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, salt and oil.
Add the pumpkin and water. Blend well.
Gradually add the sifted flour and baking soda.
Pour batter into 2 oiled and floured loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of each loaf.
This was my grandmother's recipe. She made it every year for Christmas. Now my kids ask for it every year.
