  • 1 cup rice, uncooked
  • 4 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups water

Cooking Instructions

In large skillet, brown ground beef and onion together. Cook until beef is no longer pink. Drain any grease.

Add 1 cup (raw) rice, water, and ketchup (if you want, now add 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper).

Bring to simmer and cover with lid. Cook until rice is done and has absorbed most of liquid.

Cut slices of cheese into triangles or strips and place evenly on top - let melt. Divide into fourths and serve.

Recipe Notes

I made this up out of necessity one day - when my girls were little. They loved it. They would ask for it but it never had a name - so they named it "Rice Krap".
