Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 ea sweet onion large
  • 1 ea green pepper large
  • 8 oz can diced green chilis
  • 4 ea 28 oz cans of diced tomatoes
  • 1 ea 16 oz tomato paste (lg can)
  • 3 TBSP red pepper flakes
  • 1 TBSP green habernero sauce
  • 1 ea glass jar of chili powder
  • 2 TBSP salt more or less to taste
  • 2 TBSP ground black pepper more or less to taste
  • 3 cans light kidney beans, large cans

Cooking Instructions

Dice onion and pepper. Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper. Drain. Add to large slow cooker. Then rest of ingredients except beans. Stir well. slow cook on high for 6 hours. Add beans and turn down to medium. Slow cook for 2 more hours.

Serve with cornbread. May be topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream.

Recipe Notes

I love spicy foods. Used my mother's recipe and added my own spices.

Made this for my husband who loves spicy foods as much as I do...and he loved it!!!!!!! Took it work for a covered dish and it was raved by all
