Ingredients

  • 4 8 oz pkgs frozen broccoli cuts
  • 4 cups frozen pearl onions
  • 1/2 cup "I can't believe it's not butter" divided
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp each Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup fat-free milk
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 2 3 oz pkgs lite cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 cup panko crumbs[japanese]
  • 1 cup shredded lo-fat cheddar cheese

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350. In lg pan cook broccoli in 1 inch of water until almost tender. Drain. Cook onions in 1 inch water until almost tender. Drain. In lg saucepan,melt 1/4 cup butter, stir in flour, salt& pepper until smooth.Gradually add both milks. Bring to boil. Cook,stir for 1-2 min until thickened. Reduce heat, stir in cream cheese until smooth and blended. Place veggies in a cooking sprayed 13"x9"x2" baking dish. Add sauce and gently stir to coat. Melt remaining butter, toss w/ both bread and panko crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs and cheese over veggies. Bake uncovered for 25-30 min.

Recipe Notes

This is a great dish to serve w/ a simple fish dinner.
