Sherry's kicking chicken legs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken legs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp dijon-style mustard
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1/4 tsp each, salt & pepper
  • 2 cloves minced garlic

Cooking Instructions

Wash and dry chicken, Prepare marinade-basting sauce by combining all ingredients.

Place chicken in bowl. Pour marinade over chicken. Marinate for 1 hour at room temp. Remove from marinade. Put marinade in small saucepan and cook on med. until it comes to a boil. Boil 2 min. take pan off heat. this sauce as basting sauce. Preheat broiler or grill and place chicken on grill on indirect heat for 30-35 min or until juices are clear. Or broil about 8 inches from heat for 30-35 min or until juices run clear.

Recipe Notes

When my daughter was younger, this was one of the few chicken recipes she liked because she said it was sweet and salty at the same time. Also, if you cook it right, the chicken should be exremally tender. You can always adjust the timing on the grill or
