In a large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook the potatoes, garlic, and bouillon until potatoes are tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, reserving water. In a bowl, mash potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese, adding reserved water as needed to attain desired consistency.
Transfer the potato mixture to a slow cooker, cover, and cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours. Just before serving, stir in butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.

This is NOT a slow cooker recipe...Am I the only one who actually READ this recipe? Did everyone else miss the fact that you're actually cooking the potatoes on a stove top? The only thing the slow-cooker is doing is keeping the potatoes warm. I'm sure all the ingredients come together to make great mashed potatoes, but in no way, shape, or form should this be considered a "slow cooker recipe". |

PotatoesI made these S.C. Potatoes for Thanksgiving Day. I will admit that I did follow the receipe closely except I did add more garlic. Everyone loved them and my neighbor said they were the best potatoes she ever had! |

Who in their right mind???Who in their right mind would pull apart a POTATO recipe for not being health conscious??? Get over it and stick to your sprouts. It is an excellant recipe! Fantastic because it does take away from last minute preparation. I left them in the crock pot on low for 4.5 hours and they were just fine. However if you are a garlic lover I would increase the amount suggested significantly. Great for the holidays.... |

5 WW points! If you fat free sour cream, cream cheese, and margarine (not butter) you can make this recipe for only 5 points per serving on Weight watchers. Says it serves 8, but does not tell the serving size, so you would have to measure the total servings. |
